Fly, Damn you, Fly!

Pissed off with being stuck in traffic jams? Someone ought to invent a car that flies. That would put an end to all that shit. Wait a minute! Someone already did? Why were we not informed?

The Convair Model 118 ConvAirCar (also known as the Hall Flying Automobile) was a prototype flying car of which two were built. Apparently the anticipation was that  the car would be purchased in large numbers to be rented at airports. [source: Wikipedia].  They were tested and flown successfully between 1946 and 1948 but never went into production.

We can only wonder why. Sounds like a great idea. Some of us might even start getting to work on time.
